The management team
Growing up between two cultures: a real asset
Being educated in a French lycee in Romania offers pupils the richness of a dual culture. On a daily basis, they evolve in an environment where French and Romanian languages, traditions and references meet. This dual identity fosters open-mindedness, curiosity and the ability to understand different points of view.
By developing an in-depth understanding of the host country's culture whilst benefiting from the excellence of the French education system, pupils build a plural identity and acquire valuable intercultural skills. This dual culture thus constitutes a major asset for their personal, academic and professional success, in France, in Romania and all over the world.
Right from nursery school, pupils develop their language skills in an environment where French, English and Romanian come together naturally.
A global network, a guarantee of compliance
The Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE) is the public body, under the supervision of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, that coordinates the network of French educational schools abroad.
Lycée Français Anna de Noailles is a approved school. This status means that the school is managed by a local foundation, the Anna de Noailles Foundation, and benefits from a formal partnership with the AEFE: it receives pedagogical support from the Agency and can accommodate teachers seconded from the French Ministry of National Education.
The Agency for French Education Abroad can provide French children living abroad with schooling assistance in the form of a scholarship. The consular services of the French Embassy in Romania assess the application file.
A century-old history dedicated to excellence
For over a century, the Lycée Français Anna de Noailles has supported generations of pupils in Bucharest. Founded in 1920, the school is today a major player in French education in Romania and perpetuates a tradition of excellence, cultural openness and dialogue between France and Romania.
Present in Bucharest for over a century, the Lycée Français Anna de Noailles maintains deep and lasting ties with Romania and its capital. Our institution is much more than a French school established abroad: it is a place of encounter, dialogue and mutual enrichment between two cultures, two languages and two educational traditions.
Named after the great poet Anna de Noailles — born in Paris in 1876 to a Romanian father and a Greek mother — our school has, since its foundation, embodied this ideal of a bridge between France and Romania.
Operating under the supervision of the French Embassy in Romania, we work closely with the French Institute in Romania, contributing to the promotion of the French language and the vitality of Franco-Romanian bilateral relations.
A committed, qualified and passionate teaching team
Our school relies on a stable team of teachers who share a common ambition: to provide an education of excellence, adapted to the needs of each pupil and to the international standards of the French educational system.
Beyond imparting knowledge, our teachers play an essential role in developing pupils' confidence, independence and critical thinking.
«Every day, I support my pupils with energy to give them confidence and the joy of learning.»
«After more than twenty years of teaching, what still excites me just as much is supporting each pupil towards success by instilling in them a love of effort, reflection, critical thinking and an openness to the world.»
The *vie scolaire* department is a specific feature of the French education system. It is made up of education assistants (known as AEDs) and a senior education adviser (CPE).
School life is a structuring space where social bonds are formed, identities are forged, and fundamental values such as respect, tolerance and solidarity are cultivated.
Our educational vision
The LFAdN’s mission is to guide our pupils towards various forms of excellence, to make them love and master the French language and culture, to provide an international experience and lead them towards a variety of international paths, and to bring together the cultures of the community around the values of fairness, tolerance, solidarity and the principle of secularism.
