The American international section: the best of both worlds
The American International School (AIS) offers a curriculum that combines the teachings of the French program with a specific pedagogical approach in American language and literature as well as in history and geography. It allows students to benefit from the richness of both educational systems and to develop a solid command of the English language.
Developed in collaboration with the Franco-American Commission (Fulbright), the College Board and the French Ministry of Education, the section is designed for motivated pupils who wish to achieve high academic standards, develop independence and gain a high level of proficiency in English.
Lessons from the French program
The students follow all the lessons of the French curriculum, with a specific approach in American language and literature as well as in history and geography.
Creativity and the culture of oral communication
The pedagogy is based on teaching that places a strong emphasis on play, theater, and collective experiences. Students develop their oral expression and creativity through concrete and shared projects.
A community of a human scale
The groups are of reasonable size. Projects are organized to foster a sense of belonging: teachers and students learn to get to know each other better and build relationships on a personal level.

From lower to upper secondary school
At secondary school, starting from 6ème (ages 11-12)
From lower secondary school (from 6ème, ages 11-12), pupils follow the French curriculum enhanced with specific teaching in English, notably in language and literature, as well as history and geography. These subjects are explored in increasing depth to develop language proficiency, critical thinking and the ability to understand the world from different cultural perspectives.
At lower secondary level, pupils can prepare for the Diplôme national du brevet (DNB) with the international option, which includes specific assessments in English language and literature, as well as in history and geography. The expected level by the end of lower secondary school is B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
From upper secondary school to the BFI
In upper secondary school, pupils can continue their studies through to the French International Baccalaureate (BFI), a demanding qualification recognised by leading universities worldwide.. The programme includes advanced English-language study, interdisciplinary research and oral and written assessments in two languages. It prepares pupils for competitive higher education programmes and future international opportunities.

What pupils gain from the section
The International Section also helps pupils develop confidence in speaking, strong writing skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.Pupils are encouraged to develop their intellectual curiosity and cultural awareness through the study of a wide range of topics drawn from American culture.
