The American International Section (AIS) offers a path of excellence that combines the rigor of the French educational system with American pedagogical approaches based on inquiry, initiative, and creativity. It thus offers students a unique educational experience, open to the world and resolutely focused on academic excellence.
Designed in collaboration with the Franco-American Commission (Fulbright), the College Board and the French Ministry of Education, the section is aimed at motivated pupils wishing to develop high academic standards, a high degree of independence and true fluency in the English language.
career path
From lower secondary school to A-levels
At secondary school, starting from Year 7
From lower secondary school (Year 7 onwards), pupils follow the French curriculum enhanced with specific teaching in English, notably in language and literature, as well as history and geography. These subjects are progressively studied in greater depth in order to develop language proficiency, critical thinking and the ability to analyse the world through different cultural perspectives.
At lower secondary school, pupils can prepare for the Diplôme National du Brevet with the international option, which includes specific tests in English in language and literature as well as in history and geography. The expected level at the end of the key stage is B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
At secondary school, up to the BFI
At upper secondary school, the educational path can extend up to the French International Baccalaureate (BFI), a demanding qualification recognised by top international universities. This programme includes advanced instruction in English, multidisciplinary research work and oral and written assessments in two languages, preparing pupils for selective higher education and an international career.

What the section develops
The International Section also aims to strengthen spoken confidence, written skills, and the capacity for independent and collaborative work. Pupils are encouraged to develop their intellectual curiosity and cultural awareness through the study of various content drawn from American culture.
