Secondary school, a stepping stone to high school

The middle school section constitutes an essential stage in the pupil's journey, during which the academic, methodological and personal fundamentals necessary for success in upper school are built.

Within a structured and demanding environment, our pupils consolidate their knowledge, develop their autonomy and strengthen their skills across all subjects of the French curriculum. Emphasis is placed on the rigor of their work, a deep understanding of concepts and the acquisition of effective learning methods.

Attentive and individualised support makes it possible to meet the needs of each pupil, to help them with their difficulties and to stimulate the most advanced profiles. The teaching teams ensure that an atmosphere of trust is established which is conducive to making progress and taking the initiative.

Preparation for the Diplôme National du Brevet is integrated progressively throughout the key stage, with regular assessments and precise monitoring of acquired knowledge. This academic requirement is accompanied by genuine guidance work and preparation for the transition to lycée, in order to ensure a smooth and ambitious continuity in the pupils' schooling.

Lower secondary school is thus designed as a stepping stone to success in upper secondary, by fostering independent, organised pupils who are confident in their abilities.

Secondary school provision

Secondary school pupils can enrich their curriculum with various options:

The aviation initiation certificate (BIA) is a unique diploma within the French education system. It does not really have an equivalent: it sits at the crossroads of education and the world of aviation and space; a bridge between passion and reason, knowledge and practice, professional and amateur, civil and military.

Portrait

«Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.»

This quotation by Michel de Montaigne has guided my path ever since I can remember. For me, teaching is less about imparting readymade knowledge than about awakening in every pupil the desire to understand, to question, and to move forward with enthusiasm and confidence along their own path.

I am convinced that culture is a powerful lever for shaping free and open minds, and that it must nourish all educational practice.
