For over a century, the Lycée Français Anna de Noailles has educated generations of pupils in Bucharest. Founded in 1920, the school plays a leading role in French education in Romania, continuing a tradition of excellence, cultural openness and dialogue between France and Romania.

A bridge between France and Romania
Based in Bucharest for over a century, the Lycée Français Anna de Noailles maintains deep and lasting ties with Romania and its capital. Our school is more than just a French school abroad: it is a place of encounter, dialogue and mutual enrichment between two cultures, two languages and two educational traditions.
Named after the poet Anna de Noailles, who was born in Paris in 1876 to a Romanian father and a Greek mother, our school has embodied this ideal of a bridge between France and Romania since its foundation.This Franco-Romanian connection is reflected in our educational project through the teaching of Romanian at all levels, partnerships with local cultural and educational institutions, and our school’s active participation in the life of the French community in Bucharest.
Under the supervision of the French Embassy in Romania, we work closely with the French Institute in Romania to promote the French language and strengthen Franco-Romanian relations.
